By car

RA11 motorway link road connects Ascoli Piceno to the toll booth of San Benedetto del Tronto on the A14 motorway. Two exits serve the town: “Ascoli Piceno Est” and “Ascoli Centro”. The latter will lead you straight to the city center. A covered car park is just 200m from the exit; a lift will take you to street level, right behind the Cathedral.

From Rome: take the A24 motorway (Rome-Villa Vomano, Teramo) and then SS80 state road to Giulianova toll booth (A14). Take the motorway northbound (direction: Ancona) to San Benedetto del Tronto and follow the directions listed above. A shorter, more scenic route is SS4 Salaria state highway, which connects Rome to the Adriatic coast. Average travel time is about three hours.

From Florence and Perugia: drive via Foligno (SS75 and 3), Piedipaterno (SS395 and 209), Serravalle di Perugia (SS396), Acquasanta Terme (SS4) and take “Ascoli Piceno Ovest” exit.

By train

The nearest major railway station is in San Benedetto del Tronto (Bologna-Lecce line), which is connected to Milan, Turin, Bolzano, Bologna, Ancona, Pescara, Bari and Lecce with Eurostar and Intercity trains. Local trains and buses START S.p.a connect S. Benedetto del Tronto to Ascoli Piceno .

By plane

The nearest airports are in Pescara, Ancona and Rome. Frequent rail connections serve both Pescara and Ancona Airports, while a direct bus service START S.p.a. serves both Rome Airports (Fiumicino and Ciampino).

By coach
